Deep Pockets Baby

So, this weekend we happen to be on a marriage retreat Byron’s unit put together. He had told me about it, and I agreed it could be fun. The last one we went on, however, which was October of last year, ended in utter disaster. But we won’t go into that. Anyways, So we get about 15 miles from the place the retreat is to be held at, and all of the sudden the road narrows. Soooo we start driving up this narrow – SERIOUSLY narrow- road. After about a mile I realize there is no turning back, and we are getting close to “E” on the gas gauge. Then, I realize that yes, we ARE driving up the side of a mountain. Scarrrryyy shit let me tell you! I was telling my husband it was a good thing he was there driving because if I had been driving by myself I woulda stayed put til someone came to drive me out of there LOL. If we go back home the same way we came I’ll have to take pictures because ya’ll have just got to see what I am talking about.

Anyways. We get to the “hotel” as I thought it would be, and turns out it is a RESORT! Wtf? It’s called the Homestead, located in Hot Springs, Virginia. This place is seriously for people with deep Pockets. But, I can’t complain because it is all paid for, and NOT by us! LOL. The weather is beautiful, and we are rather enjoying ourselves =) The views are breathtaking (and yse, that photo above was taken by me, and that is where we are staying lol.) I’ll post more photos tomorrow or Monday =) Jazzy saw it before we even got close to it and said “wow Mommy Look a castle!”

The thing that gets me is, the commander approved this retreat, and it was paid for by Byron’s unit. These rooms are a minimum of $149 per night, and there are at least 25 couples here. So you would think this means his unit has money, correct? Then why is it that they are always saying they don’t have the money to keep toilet paper in stock, and new tools for the motorpool? LOL.

Hump Day Adventures

Well today, as all should know it by, is- or rather was- since I am just noticing it is 12:45 am Thursday morning- National Hump Day. Why does this matter? Simple. It doesn’t. I just didn’t know what to name this post lol.

Gaaaaaahhhh today was an over all useless day. Our damn A/C went out yesterday. Although the weather is pleasant outside, we can’t really open our windows to let the outside air in because there are spider webs between the window and the screen… meaning spiders and who knows what else could get in if we opened the stupid windows. It’s been like that since we moved in. Military Housing has retarded rules on where they can spray pesticide. Soooo this has brought to my attention that there is yet another thing we must get this payday… Pesticide. Whoop Whoop.

I got an interesting phone call today. Almost didn’t answer it because it was a Private Number. But glad I did because it was the Police calling to update me on the accident I got in almost 2 weeks ago. (stupid ass decided to ram into me, back up, and take off- leaving his damn license plate behind! hahahah) They said they talked to the parents of the “suspected” driver…. who is now claiming he didn’t even have the vehicle. WTFever. All I know is someone is going to have to reimburse me for this deductible we are going to have to pay. $500 is alot to have to come up with in a short time, especially so close to the holidays.

Blahhhhhhhh. Ok I think it is time for me to hit the hay. Super excited to be on my last 3 orders to complete! It’s taken forever to get this stuff done but hopefully it will all get sent out sometime tomorrow =)
