2 Month Milestones

My dearest Dazlynn,

Yesterday marked the day you have blessed us with your presence for 2 whole months. I’ve been blessed to be your mommy. Jazereigh & Makayla have been blessed to be your sisters, and your daddy, although he hasn’t met you yet, has been blessed to be your daddy.

At your 2 month checkup, you got lots of lovin’. The nurses could not get enough of your cuteness, which says alot – being that it was a military doctor’s office. You had your first real set of shots, and other than screaming at the top of your lungs when that awful nurse got ya, you handled it quite well. My little trooper, I adore you.

Your measurements were:

  • Weight: 12.2 lbs, putting you in the 95th percentile.
  • Height: 20.87 inches, putting you in the 17th percentile.
  • Head: 39.9cm, putting you in the 89th percentile.

To put it in simple terms, you are short, chunky, and have a little larger than average sized head (you can thank your daddy for that, hehe) Overall, you are in the 67th percentile.

A sweet little bundle of perfection, in my opion. But what do I know? I’m just a mom =)

You are drinking 5-6 ounces of formula every 4 hours or so.
You normally fall asleep around 11pm and wake up around 5 am.

You have gone thru 6 packs of newborn diapers, and are on your 7th pack of size 1′s. Which means you have gone thru over 450 diapers. Wowzahs.

A few things I never want to forget about this stage:

The way you smile, and sometimes laugh, when you are finished with your bottle. Not sure if the bubbling is funny to you, or if the empty bottle tickles your lips, whatever it is, it’s funny to you.

The way you smile right before you spit up, as if the big mess you are about to make somehow humors you.

The way you seem to hold actual conversations with Jazereigh. She talks to you, sings to you, reads to you, and you lay there smiling, and cooing, and “aaaaahhhh”ing. Sometimes you even fuss at her as if you disagree. It’s pretty darn cute.

The way it is so hard to get photos of you when your sisters are hanging around. While it’s somewhat frustrating at that moment, it’s also sweet how much they adore you, and always want in on the action.

The way you smile when you pass gas… lol.

The way your hands are always balled up in a little fist.

How absolutely adorable I think you look in handmade hats in everyday life – not just photoshoots.

The way you immediately stop fussing when you realize you are getting your diaper changed.

How stinkin’ cute your smiles are from any angle. Maybe it’s the mommy in me talking, but you are just the sweetest!!

The way you love to be swaddled… nice n snug.

The way you like to be held facing outwards, away from me, and often fall asleep like this – but wake up as soon as I try to put you down. I am sure it looks strange when I am walking in the store and have you facing outward with my arm around your tummy, but hey, this is what you like, and it works for us.

The sweet, lightly tinted color of your skin.

How much I love those little feet of yours.

The phase you go thru between 10-11 at night, every night. You are very fussy, and nothing seems to make it better, but time. You don’t need to burp, you don’t need to be changed, you’re not hungry. You just want to fuss. So I carry you around, I bounce you on my knee, I hold you this way, and that way, I lay you down and stretch your little arms and legs, trying to distract you, and simply enjoy your fussiness, because one day it will turn into yelling, and screaming, and attitude. So for now, yes, I am grateful for your simple fussiness.

How absolutely, positively, in love with your little self I am.

How truly blessed I am that God choose me to be your mama.
